What To Expect
We will have an initial free thirty-minute video or phone consultation where I can talk about my therapeutic approach, and you can share what you are looking for from counselling. Together we will talk about whether this is the right fit for you and discuss what schedule will best meet your needs.

FAQ
How does virtual therapy work?
Although it was initially daunting to move my counselling services online, we've discovered quite a few benefits! Clients can stay comfortable in your own home, and avoid difficult travel commutes. Rural clients across Manitoba can access services easily and efficiently, and we are happy to say that we have clients from across the province.
Supplies needed for our sessions will be safely delivered to your address.
We are trained in the ethics of online counselling and maintain standards of practice.
What's included in a counselling session?
Great question! Counselling sessions are different for different people, but usually our sessions will have time to check in with one another, review our last session together, learn and practice something new, and to play a game or complete an activity.
Sessions are usually 50 minutes long, which can be a long time for some children. For this reason we use lots of different visuals, videos, drawing, and movement to help us practice our skills. After a session, you will receive an email that recaps what we did together and asks you to think about this before the next time we meet.
How do we know when therapy ends?
People aren't meant to be in therapy forever, and sometimes we come in and out of therapy as our life circumstances change. Our counsellors are not our lifetime coaches, but rather help us to develop supportive relationships with our natural "coaches" in life.
Usually, people need ten to twelve sessions before they are ready to start talking about transitioning out of therapy. Often this happens when we've learned some new skills and now need time to practice them in real life. We will talk together about when this makes sense, and how to do this in a caring and supportive way.
Do you direct bill?
We do not direct bill to insurance, but are accepted by all insurance plans that cover Master of Social Work therapy. Please check with your insurance provider to ensure coverage before starting counselling. We will provide the invoices and receipts needed for insurance.
**NEW: We are an approved First Nations Insured Benefits provider and do direct bill to NIHB.
We accept E-transfer and credit card payments through our secure agency platform. Payment is due at the end of every session.
